Rules & Regulations

1. Membership Requirements

  • All members must be at least 16 years old.

  • A valid IVAO ID is required.

  • Members must have a basic understanding of flight simulation (MSFS, X-Plane, P3D, etc) and aviation procedures (flight planning, navigation, procedures, phraseology, comms, etc.).

  • English language proficiency is mandatory for communications and coordination.

 

2. Conduct and Discipline

  • All members are expected to act respectfully and professionally during flights, briefings, and public interactions.

  • Discrimination, harassment, or offensive behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

  • Follow all IVAO rules and airspace procedures during online operations.

 

3. Activity Requirements

  • Members must complete at least one flight per calendar month unless on official leave (LOA).

  • Long periods of inactivity (more than 30 days) may result in automatic removal, unless a leave request is submitted.

  • Pilots are encouraged to take part in joint missions, events, and NATO training exercises when available.

 

4. Flight Operations

  • All flights must be flown using realistic procedures and NATO-aligned standards where applicable.

  • Aircraft must be used as per their assigned role (AWACS, AAR, transport, SAR, etc).

  • Flights must be logged accurately via the virtual airline system (phpVMS).

  • Unauthorized use of combat operations is not allowed unless pre-approved as part of a training mission.

 

5. Aircraft and Callsigns

  • Only approved aircraft may be used in official NATO Virtual operations.

  • Use the correct callsign format based on assigned squadron or unit (e.g., “NATO 31”, “MULTI 22”, “BARTOK 60”).

  • Custom liveries are allowed if they reflect realistic military/NATO standards.

 

6. Training and Ranks

  • New members may be required to complete initial orientation or training flights, depending on their background.

  • Rank progression is based on activity, professionalism, and contribution to the group.

  • Members may apply for special roles (AWACS controller, mission planner, etc) and/or staff roles after demonstrating consistent participation.

 

7. Communications

  • All members must be part of the official Discord server for coordination and briefings.

  • Discord is considered the primary means of non-flight communication (notices, mission briefings, scheduling).

  • Respectful and professional communication is expected at all times.

 

8. Security & Privacy

  • Do not share login credentials, flight plans, or mission files** with non-members.

  • All flight data and user information is stored securely and will only be used internally.

  • Use of AI or other automation tools to simulate flights is strictly prohibited.

 

9. Leave of Absence (LOA)

  • Pilots unable to fly for an extended period may request LOA via email notification.

  • LOA status exempts the pilot from the monthly activity requirement.

  • After 60+ days of LOA without communication, a pilot may be marked inactive.

 

10. Enforcement & Termination

  • Violations of these regulations may lead to:

    • Verbal or written warnings

    • Suspension of membership

    • Permanent removal from NATO Virtual

  • Decisions are made by the Command Staff, and appeals can be submitted via email or Discord.
